Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out your forms electronically. Read on to learn more about what you will experience during your first visit to Senechal Family Chiropractic! We hope to make you feel comfortable and right at home!
Consultation
Once you have electronically filled out necessary paperwork, you will meet with Dr. Senechal for a consultation. Your first visit is designed for Dr. Senechal to discover more about you, your condition and your expectations in order to determine whether our brand of chiropractic care can meet your goals. During this time, you can ask any questions you may have or address any concerns you may have. If she believes you are a good candidate for care she will proceed with the examination.
Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Senechal will perform a complete chiropractic examination and spinal screening in which she will test your reflexes, your strength, your motion ability, as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
X-Ray Studies
After the physical exam is completed, Dr. Senechal will determine if x-rays will be needed. This diagnostic study will help evaluate your case and add to the previously gathered data in the hopes of making an accurate diagnosis. X-rays are essential to rule out more serious conditions and assist Dr. Senechal in developing an appropriate treatment plan for you. If special studies such as MRI or CT are indicated, Dr. Senechal will refer you to another specialist to have this done. Dr. Senechal does not take x-rays in office.
Completion of First Visit:
After completion of the Consultation, Examination, and determination if x-rays are needed, Dr. Senechal will review it and develop a treatment plan for you that she believes will be most effective. During this time, she will discuss with you if she thinks she can help based on the gathered exam information. She will make recommendations for what she believes is the best way to treat your condition and discuss how long it will take. She will also decide if a physio-therapy treatment is necessary to help ease your symptoms. If so, that treatment will then be performed. The Chiropractic Assistant will also discuss costs and address any other concerns you may have. Then we will determine if she can move forward with a Chiropractic Adjustment.
Treatment
After the review of findings, you will be provided with your first chiropractic treatment. The treatment may include chiropractic adjustments,physio-therapies or modalities, and/or corrective exercise instruction. Dr. Senechal will be sure to explain what she is doing the first time so that you are as comfortable as possible.
How Long will Take
Your first visit to a chiropractor typically lasts about 45 minutes. This should be enough time to perform all of the above steps needed to gather medical information and evaluate them for proper diagnosis. Since it is your health that is on the line, it is important for Dr. Senechal not to proceed in haste since some crucial information could be left out in the process, thus risking the health of the patient. Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first appointment to make sure the forms are completed properly.
Regular Visits
On each chiropractic visit you can expect to spend roughly 10-20 minutes. Treatments and recommendations are different for all patients and so therefore times may vary depending on your specific recommendations. Our Chiropractic Assistant will schedule all future appointments for you on your second visit in the office. At this point you will know exactly how long you will be in the office on each visit.
